And The Grammy Goes To

February 18, 2022

There’s a Keystone in every great invention.

The Grammy Award itself is directly associated with glamour, showmanship and the best the music industry has to offer. From artists and vocalists to producers and teams behind the scenes of a genre’s greatest hit, such prestigious recognition shines a light on all of personnel required to produce songs and albums. And behind every great song, band and production team lie the various electronics that make it all possible. Today’s musical success thrives heavily on electrical and technological innovation brought on to enhance quality and enjoyment while also bringing out the best of an artist’s talents. And the accolade that recognizes this success also thrives on that same technology.

Take the microphone and speaker for example. What initially started as an enhancement of the telephone is now a mainstay in the world of music production and performance. Paired with the appropriate equipment and technicians, today’s microphone can give a listener the feel of being right there in the recording studio with their favorite artists. On a larger scale, microphones make it possible for sound to fill stadiums and theaters through amplifiers, or TV and computer speakers at home. When you think about it, the microphone is a pretty convenient tool to have for, let’s say, a universally broadcasted award show isn’t it?

The Grammy Awards also wouldn’t be the ceremony it is today without the electrical and technological advancements within today’s instruments. Electric guitars and drums, synthesizers and soundboards, along with a   plethora of other instruments, can completely transform a song from genre to another. The entire concept of the Rock & Roll genre revolves around the electric guitar, and the magnetic pickup under the strings that creates an electric signal that gets picked up by wire coiling.

The lights, the presentation and display, it’s all as grand as the technology it utilizes. The Grammy’s combine music, sound, lighting and technology together all in one night, to provide the world with one memorable performance. None of this would be possible without the behind-the-scenes work of Keystone components such as  terminals & terminal boardsLED spacers and lens capsPC board hardwarefuse clips and fuse holders, and battery and coin cell holders.
